FRIDA AND DIEGO TOUR

An approach to the Mexican art and the lifestyle of two of the most important Mexican painters. Whether if you are curious about art or you are a knowledgeable fan, this is a tour you must do since this is a satisfying experience for your senses.

The tour begins at La Casa Azúl (The Blue House), where Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera lived. The site allows you to feel a closer and more intimate contact with their lives, their story, and beliefs, as well as appreciate the exhibition of their amazing pieces of art.

Then we are going to move on the Anahuacalli Museum, an imposing building which was designed by Diego Rivera intended to house his collection of pre-Hispanic archaeological pieces. The building by itself is already an artwork.

If you do your tour on Saturday, we might change the Anahuacalli for the Saturday´s  Bazar, which is a popular street market, a colorful place where handicrafts and paintings are exposed and sold by their own authors.

Furthermore, the Dolores Olmedo museum, a large Mexican Hacienda. At this museum, you will appreciate a large collection of paints of Diego, Frida, and other Mexican artists, which also had been exhibited in other famous temporary exhibitions around the world. Walk through the gardens of this Hacienda is also worth it.

Finally, you will have a walk to Coyoacan neighborhood. This is one of the areas of the city in which the colonial legacy can really be appreciated; the place conserves its traditional Mexican character, which in addition to its beautiful plazas, streets and houses, has attracted a great number of artists, and has given it a pleasant intellectual atmosphere.
