Torta al Pastor,
To start, you´ll try the authentic and delicious Pastor, which could be served either in Taco or Torta. The pastor is pork meat marinated and served with pineapple. Usually, people stop at this great Taquería at midnight, to grab a snack to kill their high a bit.
Ingredients of the pre-Hispanic culture,
Be ready for try: grasshoppers, ants, and maguey worms. We´ll walk through a popular Mexican market where you´ll be able to try these insects that have been used since the pre-Hispanic times. We are going to learn about types of Mole and Cacao, explained by the stall owner.
Mole enchilada from Oaxaca ,
After walking some more streets, the next stop will be in a Mexican bar which offers food from Oaxaca. Here you can try an Enchilada made with chicken and Mole. Unspeakable tasty.
Pavo o Cochinita Pibil from Yucatán,
You´ll try either turkey or pork prepared with a glorious sauce and other condiments, this is a traditional meal from Yucatán that will enchant you. If you feel brave, you can try it with habanero chilli.
Street Tacos, just like Chilangos do,
This is a must do! An authentic Mexican eats standing in the street. In this place, you´ll try Tacos de Canasta, which is a different type of taco prepared using a basket.
A cultural stop,
We´ll go a bit out of our way in order to enter to the Palacio Nacional. Here you´ll observe a great mural painted by Diego Rivera. Besides being an amazing art work that you must do, this mural will acquaint you with the history of México.
Canta y no llores!,
Going to a Cantina for a drink is a very antique tradition that has remained to nowadays. Mexicans go there to hang out, listen to Mexican music and have Tequila's shots until getting hammered. Heading this place is like entering to another time. Have a tequila, beer or mezcal. They also serve Mexican food with your drink.
Churros y atole,
Our walk continues so, to restock on energy, we´ll grab a Mexican churro filled with Cajeta or Chocolate served with an Atole, a drink made with milk and corn.
Ricas Nieves,
Finally, the desert. You´ll have a Mexican handmade Nieve. This is a natural ice cream made by an artisan process with Mexican fruit, Tequila or Mezcal.
